Wheat, corn, soy, and peanut free diet?
We found out today that my 8 yr old daughter has some pretty significant allergies to wheat, corn, soy, and peanut(She had NO repercussion to egg, milk, or tomato). I'm kind of at a loss as to what to feed the poor girl!! :) Any suggestions on literature, cookbooks, websites, etc available that have be helpful to you would be greatly appreciated.
, the doctor is recommending allergy shots with a 3 to 5 year commitment. Has anyone have success in treating their allergies with the shots?
Thanks!
Answers: Doctors are only human don't forget. Not adjectives,of them know everything. A second opinion always helps. Sometimes everything is not as it seem. I never trust any of them anymore.. Ask someone else.
Yea they usually put a patch on your rear with a whole bunch of smaller patch's on it . After five day's they peel it past its sell-by date and see where the rash corresponds to the square .That will be what you are allergic to .Then they start the shots.
Hi!
For wheat try www.wheat-free.org. They have some recipe. For peanuts, read labels. I have written a childrens book and animated a story on peanut allergies. I also spent about 40 hours researching peanut protected candy. Even though it does not contain peanuts it could be cross contaminated and 1/200 of a peanut is enough to put a peanut allergy person in anaphylactic shock. I hold it all posted on www.judethedude.com.
My allergist in Houston hasn't recommended any allergy shots b/c there isnt' a cure for the peanut allergy right in a minute. Has your daughter ever had any issues before now?
