Sore throat, Allergies.?

So I went to see my doctor a few days ago and confirmed Im just having a unyielding time with allergies. I am taking Zyrtec, flonase and lozengers. My glands are really swollen and its hard to swallow.
drinking plenty of tea and other warm liquid, even soda for the bubbly effect on the throat and nothing is making it ease up. Its not a sore throat as in strep sore, its sore as contained by swollen. 2 weeks ago I also had laragytis, again, the allergies are crazy right now.

Any suggestions for easing a sore throat?
Answers:    Hi there, girl, I grain your pain! I just got over duplicate thing, except what I found out was, that the flonase that I was taking, be actually making things worse for me, so be careful, if your throat is not getting better inside a week, I would stop taking it. My throat killed me for 3 weeks, but I thought it was post nasal drip, which I had a sinus infection and be on antibiotics a while back. Anyway, I didn't realize it until, I was wondering why I had this sore throat for so long, and consequently it hit me that that's one of the side effects of that stuff!! My tonsils were so red and swollen, it felt like I be swallowing a knife! I did take 2 Tylenol and 3 ibuprofen to help next to the pain, which that works wonders, believe me! I haven't taken flonase now for 4 days and today was the first time within like almost a month that I don't have a sore throat! Also, another thing you can try beforehand going to bed is benadryl for allergies, it really has helped me alot! Good luck and hope you feel better soon!
If you run out of lozenges, you can other suck on peppermints. They can be really soothing. Gargling salt water is also said to help make less burdensome a sore throat. Soda probably isn't a good idea because the carbonation will only irritate the mucosa membranes.
