Dog Saliva Allergies?

I suffer from dog allergies and i am currently looking into finding a hypoallergenic breed i am most interested in the Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier but my biggest problem is what to do about the dog saliva part of my allergies, is their any style with out taking medication that i can prevent the skin irritation from occurring when a log licks me?
Answers:    Pick a calm dog and train him to never put his mouth too to hand you. I'm afraid I don't know of any real help for skin allergies besides plain old soap and hose down.
