What would come to pass if i am allergic to dogs?what can i do?

my boyfriend is very allergic but has built up a tolerance. There are shots you can gain to get rid of the allergies. Dogs are totally worth it!!
I'm probably the worst person to answer this, as i love my dogs..and do not know what I would do if someone told me I had an allergy to them. I know for one thing, I'd find an allergist who would prescribe an allergy medication so you can be around them. Perhaps your allergist could offer you injections that would help you to desensitize you to them.
