Do i own an allergy to gluten?
im a 13yr old girl. well, for the past 5 months i hold been clearing my throat out for like 30 min every night. but within the past month, ive started doing it in the daytime to. now i hold wheezing and liquid constantly in my throat. i went to several doctors. the first 1 said mild bronchitis and didn't tender me any meds. but when my chest x-rays came back, the radiologist said they didn't see anything. then my pediatrician said it be nothing to worry about. later yesterday, i went to the urgent care, they said it was anyone caused by my stomach, not my lungs or sinuses. (my mom works at a country club so this girls not a Professional or anything) then, a girl at my moms work said that it could be a food Allergy. she said maybe gluten. and i get through bagels every morning basically. oh also, i'm horribly lactose intolerant, i throw up if i eat lactose. but if i eat rime cream or something, i take a lactaid pill which is supposed to aid in digestion of lactose and it does. but the girl at her work said that you can still get allergy's even if you run a pill to help with digestion.
Answers: It's possible that it's a gluten allergy. I was only just diagnosed with celiac disease and had the same problem. It wouldn't hurt to dispense up the gluten to find out. But you have to be very careful - gluten hide in things you wouldn't even suspect (like soy sauce). It takes 6-8 weeks to completely clear your system tho'.
Ask your doc to run a food allergy test on you (IgG). I found out that I am allergic to Soy, Gluten, Dairy and Eggs. I own to say that I feel a million times better now!
