Really Dry Eyes. give a hand??
My eyes feel really dry. I've tried drops and everything & nothing is helping. What could be causing this & what can I do?
Answers: I've have dry eyes my entire life, well it turns out I have Graves Disease near Graves Ophthalmology, which is more than likely the cause of them. To help beside dry eye I take wet a wash cloth next to warm water and I apply the wet towel to my eyes. I also own Systane eye drops, they work by lubricating the eyes. (I went to an eye doctor at Walmart and she recommended the Systane.)
OT use Visine eye drops. They relieve dry, red eyes TEMPORARILY. They actually worsen the dry eyes. How Visine works is by shrinking the blood vessels contained by the eyes. The blood vessels actually become addicted to the chemical in the drops that shrink them, so over time, alike amount of drops when you first started them will not work.
Your best bet would be to go to an eye doctor if you can, they'll help you better than anyone on here. If you can't I would recommend the warm showery compresses or Systane.
I get really dry eyes all of the time! It's soooo annoying!
