Am I allergic to alcohol??
Alcohol has never had a bad effect on me, except for the occasional hangover. However, around a month ago I had a couple beers and my face and chest became EXTREMELY red and blotchy, and it feel like I couldn't catch my breath. I chalked it up to being something I ate until it happen a couple more times, also with wine.
Ever since then, no matter how much alcohol I drink (whether it be 1 beer or 10) I get these shocking pains in my stomach right below my sternum and I never have any of these symptoms when I haven't drank.
I realize that allergies are something that can just pop up. I'm assuming it's some time of an allergy to alcohol, but I read online that it's amazingly rare to be allergic to the actual alcohol. Any ideas?
Answers: Get it checked by the doctor and stop drinking alcohol until you know exactly what's going on. It could possibly be alcohol poisoning which is very serious so stop drinking because you could stop up seriously harming yourself.
