Allergic response!!?
i had a gum infection about 2 weeks before christmas within 2007 and was given amoxicillin, i had an allergic reaction and have a rash all over my body. I now own another gum infection and was given Clarithromycin tablets today to help i looked at the ingredients and there's only one different :S so im guessing the probability of having another allergic reaction is high??... but its my 18th birthday subsequent saturday! :( please help
Answers: No it's an alternative to Penicillin, it shouldn't cause the same allergic recoil. It's the Penicillin that you had an reaction to with Amoxicillin. Source(s): Registered Nurse
