Can a bee sting impose a hypersensitivity similar to symptoms that of allergies from pollen close to liquid eyes or stuffy trunk?
My step son was stung by a bee early this after noon and the site where on earth he was stung is swollen but other then that he was fine. Twelve Hours subsequent he is complaining that his nose is all stuffed up. My wife said that having an allergic criticism to a bee sting is the same as if he just had regular allergies similar to from animal dander, or pollen. Basically saying that allergies are allergies. I disagree and from what i have read the symptoms would be different next that of your everyday allergies and if there where going to be an allergic reaction to a bee sting if after 5 hours from one stung there wasn't a reaction, likely in that wouldn't be an allergic reaction. i just want to see if someone could clear this up. lol
Answers: Typically if someone is going to have an allergic spontaneous effect to a bee sting, it occurs fairly quickly.
lly the site is red, raw and can swell.
This is quite normal.
An allergic reaction to a bee sting wouldn't usually go on 5 hours later and would appear such as difficulty breathing. Extreme swelling of area and/or face. A cough while breathless. Extreme burning around site and itchiness etc.
rtunately your wife is not correct that adjectives allergies appear the same.
But i will let you tell her that!
What he have sounds just like he has hey confusion.
If it's one of the initial exposures to these allergens (the bee venom), it may very well take several hours or even days for your step-sons immune system to start 'acting up' (that's technically what it is, the body's own immune system overreacts and produces histamines (fighter cells) which start attacking the body, instead of the foreign/allergen/material that it mistakenly take to seriously.
Stuffy noise and the most frequently observed REACTIONs (your spouse is even using the correct medical term) prove that your step-son is reacting systemically. Bee stings usually are so potent for the person beside allergies against them, that it will react much faster (and appear to be more 'localized' with rapid and extreme swelling at the side of the insult) . As I mentioned your step-son may be within his 'initial phases' (and the next bee-sting may or may not develop very different, and frightenly more serious). Take allergies serious, the immune system is one of the more complex systems in the human body and medication is the art of entertaining the patient while their body takes care of themselves... (meaning we know what will work for which conditions, but we apprehend very little really why it does). Source(s): EMT and E.D. tech
