Allergic response or cold sore?
The other night, I made a shrimp salad. I eat seafood all the time and hold never had any sort of reaction to shrimp before. I also tried a turnip for the first time contained by my life around the same time. An hour later, I started to develop these two red sores on the right side of my lower lip and my unbroken lip was a little swollen. Then, within the subsequent half hour, my lip became huge and the sores turned white. I brushed it off as a slight allergic sensitivity to some bad shrimp, and took a benadryl, but when I woke up in the middle of the night, the together lower right side of my face was swollen, along with my throat. I thought for sure it be an allergic reaction of some kind, but I'm not sure if shrimp or a bite of turnip could have cause this. It's strange because I figured an allergy would have made both sides of my face and mouth swell. This happen two days ago; my throat and jaw are still sore and it looks like I have a huge cold sore on my lip, although I've never have one before. I'm not sure how long allergic reactions normally later, but I'm starting to question whether this has nothing to do next to what I ate. Did I develop a cold and a cold sore at the same time? I'm wondering this because I have read about cold sores and how they swell, blister, after scab over with a brown crust, which is what my lip looks like.
Does anyone have any theory what I should do?
Answers: the allergic reaction may hold triggered a cold sore. continue taking benedryl as directed, take your anti viral meds, and follow up with your doctor. maintain your epi pen handy & read labels at least 3 times before drinking.
Our bodies' chemistry is constantly shifting.
You really need to see a doctor to determine what the sores are, and the culprit- ASAP!
you need to go to te docter because if you don't it might get pretty serious. So yea
turnips the culprit
I get cold sores all the time, and that's what it sounds like it is. They are really tight and annoying but they go away after a week or so. Just DON'T pick at it, because they spread like crazy! If it was an allergic response your whole mouth, tongue and throat would have swollen up and you'd be hospitalized. Especially to something like seafood, but since you've eat it before, I really don't think that's the case.
