I'm have a severe allergic counterattack to a sulfa drug. How long will the side effects closing?

On Christmas eve I was prescribed Septra generic for a Urinary Tract Infection. I was given a weeks worth and finished it. After I finished, I started having allergic reaction. I broke out in hives that are just now starting to shift away, but they weren't the problem. My digestive system was hit hard by this drug, I have a constant spasm in my left side, most of the time I feel green about the gills, and I seem to only defecate mostly mucous and blood. I went to the doctor a week ago, and he give me Nexium, which doesn't seem to be doing much at all. I have another appointment surrounded by two days, but something tells me they aren't going to be able to do much. It's been 3 weeks so far, and I'm at the extension of my wits. How much longer will I have to go through this?
Answers:    Some antibiotics can cause a condition call pseudomembranous colitis (google this for more info and to check your symptoms). It's caused by an overgrowth of stronger "bad" bacteria because the antibiotics killed bad the weaker bacteria and the "good" bacteria your body needs. It is mostly bloody, mucousy stool that smells incredibly bleak. If you have this, your doc really needs to listen up and treat it! You will have to whip another course of antibiotics to cure it, if that's what you have.
