What would raison d`¨ºtre chronic fund itching?

I have had chronic irritation on my back for months. Its single on my back and is so severe I have to use a coat hanger to scratch it. I enjoy industrial anti histamines (only available on prescription), Piriton, Cetrazine and anti itch lotions and cream, none of which works. What could I be allergic to and what can I do to counteract it?
Answers:     Sometimes eating too copious oily foods, butter etc causes greasy pores and itching.

I really sounds like dry skin to me. I suffer from it and I am miserable. If you enjoy someone available, have them apply some very good cream or moisturizer to your vertebrae as often as possible. And don't take hot showers as they make the dryness and itching worse. Aveeno make a good lotion as does Eucerin. At least it's worth a try.
