39 and in recent times diagnosed beside shingles. Do I enjoy cancer again?
I was on vacation last week and be in the sun a lot. I started feeling tingly stomach-ache in my back that turned into rash/blisters. I went to the doc today and be diagnosed with shingles. I had thryoid cancer and just have my follow-up and was given a clean bill of health. (no cancer). But why would I achieve shingles? Does this mean I might have another cancer somewhere? My only other symptom is I have a feeling a tender lump in armpit and I get enlarged lymph nodes in d¨Ścolletage only when I am sick. but they go back down when I am better. But I can other feel them whether they are enlarged or not. ( I have a very tough neck). Could I have a cancer somewhere else I dont' know about? If so, how do I find out? I am really scared. I am not sick or stressed right very soon. I got shingles while I was on vacation. What does this plan? I tested negative for hiv as well.
Answers: Shingles has nothing to do next to cancer. As noted by others it is a virus closely related to chicken pox and is often the result of a stress response in the body. You own been through a lot with the surgery & adjectives (I also got shingles 6 mos. after my back surgery) & this episode should not have any effect on your lymph nodes. The over-hasty commonly follows nerve paths running from your spine toward your abdomen (often at the waist) & usually you obtain blisters filled with clear fluid in them roughly 7 days after the rash starts. The rash can be painful but after a few weeks you should be fine. Don't verbs about shingles causing the cancer to start again, but continue to follow up beside your MD for regular check ups.Even though you were on vacation when you got the over-hasty, the virus had already started to work before you even left home...you only didn't break out yet. Good luck. Source(s): NJ RN
Shingles are from the chicken pox virus, it can be dormant contained by your system for years and then pop up with no explanation.
y are very itchy, but not cancer. The doctor should have explained this to you, would have saved you a great deal of needless worry!
The tender lump is a swollen lymph node, probably swollen because of the shingles. It should go away soon. If its still bothering you contained by a few weeks, get it checked out.
Relax.. Shingles is the same virus that cause Chicken Pox. If you had it as a kid then you still carry the virus contained by a dormant fashion. It can re-emerge at any time during your life, even several times.
The rash can be pretty painful and it is best to see a doctor as soon as possible to get treated.
Hope this helps.
you should get checked out asap.. it is something to be concerned about...but we are not doctors so it wouldnt be right to try & diagnose your problem although we adjectives want to help..its not fair to you... keep your commander up and good luck....
Not sure of all the details but I'd you are concerned cheack it out. Shingles are the adult form of Chickenpocks (same virus ). It's itchy and can be reasonably sore but not much to worry about (avoid scratching, can scar) Your Lymph nodes may purely be reacting to the infection (shingles) . Again though if you are concerned check it out.
