Could this be breast cancer?
I am a 19 year old female. I had my annual physical within late Feb. My doc found a small found lump in my outer left breast, she assumed it be a cyst but ordered an ultrasound to be sure. I had the first ultrasound and the ultrasound tech didnt think it looked like a cyst byt more similar to a fibrous mass. They told me to re-book another ultrasound for July to make sure that things were changing. I have the ultrasound last week, they did a better job and used a different tool during the u/s. Today I was call into my Doc's for results, she told me that they were very concerned about it and that I be going to get a biopsy done tomorrow morning. My Doc didnt shed to much light on her opinion because she did not want me worrying roughly it because they are not sure what it is. My grandmother had breast cancer and had a double masectomy when she was contained by her 40's. Do you think this is breast cancer? And if not, what could it be. I am VERY nervous nearly the biopsy tomorrow.

Grandmother is a 2nd degree relation. A single 2nd degree relation near breast cancer is not normally considered to increase your risk measurably.

That's adjectives you have to worry about for in a minute. With something like this, you have to resist the temptation to picture possible outcomes. You'll end up worrying about things that are a) unlikely to happen, and b) beyond your control. Just focus on what you CAN do (like getting to your appointment), and try not presume about what you MIGHT have to do.

If it is cancerous the characteristics include irregular shape,micronodular groups of fluid collection and sharp edges. If you have a family history of breast cancer and your "lump" have more of the cancerous characteristics then chances are you do have breast cancer. Try not to verbs too much now tho, there is nothing you can do until you grasp the biopsy done. Even if it has characteristics of being malignant that doesnt mean it is for sure.
