I am worried going on for a small lump on the top of my ear. Is it possible that it is a tumor?

I first discovered this lump when I was ten. My parents brushed it off and told me that it was some excessive bone cartilage. I am thirteen immediately, and I am kind of worried about the lump. I have programmed a doctor's appointment tomorrow regarding the lump, but I'd like some other people's opinion if the lump looks cancerous or could possibly be a tumor (malignant or benign).
