How long can my father live next to 1-2mm cancer cell around his liver?
it was found by regular body check in march 2008. he since later underwent 5 times of chemotherapy. doctor is going to try another drug next month to see if the drug has a response on these cancer cell. he can eat well, sleep well... the cell grow little bigger 3%. i worry about him so much. he says he solely have 2 years to live. is it true?
Answers: The docs haven't tried all the treatments yet, so as long as the cell are still limited to the liver, the cells can be killed beside radiation or other alternative treatments. If radiation or other alternatives work, then he will be free of the cancer.
THere is Cancer Treatment Center of America that my cousin is going to, because of advance Ovarian Cancer that had spread. They have a current on in Pheonix Arizona that just opened, and several other locations. She did not own money or insurance and they helped her and her sister fly out there to get treatment. I would afford them a call
Ask whether he can have these small tumors 'ablated' . . some people are candidate for this type of treatment depending on how many he has, size, and whether they can be reached. Basically they will move about in and 'zap' the tumors and make them disintegrate. Not all patients are candidate for this treatment but it is worth asking about.
