A cancer patients near coma hear you?

My biological father is about to pass and he's in a comatose state after battle with cancer for years. He's been sleeping more and more every time I see him, and he hasn't been wake up or responding for the past two days. I was told that he doesn't have much time, and I'm wondering if he'll be capable of hear me and be conscious that I'm around him at all. It's a hard time for me but not as difficult as most people hold it because I didn't grow up with him and I haven't spent much time with him. This might sound cruel, but the trip to the hospital is far, and I freshly don't feel that it's worth the trip if he won't be aware that I'm visiting him, since we never really had much of a relationship so me mortal there is all for him to be aware that he's not alone, not for me. Do you think it'll be worth the trip to see him?
Answers:    It's not specified whether a comatose patient can hear you or not. However the human brain is a very powerful thing. I've have doctors tell me that coma patients can't be in pain nor can they have a feeling the outside world at all.
e is a lot to be said for human contact. Doctors sometimes put twins in like peas in a pod bed when one is sick to help them recover faster. They don't know why it works but the sick twin gets better. It's call co-bedding.

I would ddefinitelymake a trip to see your father, talk to him and spend as much time as you can in his presence.
