An MRI shows a 1cm spot on my mom's right lung.?
My mom went in for an MRI on her lower abdemon and a 1cm spot was found on her lung. They are going to do a CT to see if nearby are other spots, she is 80 years old, never has smoked, what are the chances this is cancerous? Thank you for any practical input.
Answers: A CT will give better imaging of her lungs but likelihood are if there weren't more seen in the MRI they will be unbelievably small on the CT, if there at all. If its just the one spot that's within chances are nothing will be done about it because it is so small. It would back up being a wait and see approach, if it is cancer at all. I hope everything turns out!
