Ideas or how to match up a fund raiser for a friend next to cancer?

My friend found out she had breast cancer last year. She had a mastectomy, and be cancer free for a while. I received a call from her last week stating that the cancer has come support and is now attacking her bones. She has a fractured rib because of it, and is in profusely of pain. To make a long story short, she needs to be stale from work for 4-5 months before she can collect her disability benefits, which she'll need to keep acceptance chemo treatments. A couple of friends and I were trying to come up with a way to assist her, but we are all in financial binds ourselves. So we came up next to the idea to have a fund raiser, but we can't come up with any accepted wisdom on what kind or how to organize one.
Answers:    Start with a patio sale. Try a bake sale. Most super market will allow people to bring bake goods into their stores for fund raisers. I know this is silly sounding, but a lemonade stand. Put up fliers that you will dog sit while the owners are at work. Walk dogs. You'd be surprised at how abundant people would love to have someone walk their dogs. Mow lawns. babysit. Except for a scorch sale, no money will come out your pocket. Hope that helps Source(s): RN
i am very sorry for your friend and hope that she get better and rid of the cancer quick!!
one thing we did at a church i went to.. it wasn't exactly a fundraiser-event persay, but more of a fun method to fundraise?
basically you get an ugly tire or an old-fashioned toilet or loads of flamingos or something ugly that people don't want on their lawn and be off it on their lawn. then you leave a transcribe on their door or front stoop saying that these items were placed here by blahblah for blahblah reason, and will solely be removed with donation or by request, and leave your phone number. once they see this, they have to appointment in and say they need it removed, and after you can go by and pick up the donation, or just the item if they don't want to donate. it really turned out to be a huge hit - people started calling up asking when the item would be on their front prairie! i guess it really depends on what kind of town you live in, if it's a neighborhood or New York hah. but it's an idea :)
