Is it really the lowered immune system?

I've been fighting my brain tumor since December. I've never been one to catch sick. We did brain surgery-great. We did six and a half weeks of radiation-did great...got fatigued about 2 weeks after radiation, but did okay and it was done. I've been doing chemo *temadar* for months-doing well. A few weeks ago I come down very sick *for about 3 weeks* and was told I have some kind of virus. I just started avastin treatments in adding up to my chemo and now I'm having an allergic reaction (a imprudent...no biggy) to that, but now I am coming down with another 'virus' according to the doctor. Is this all lately part of having cancer or is it really a 'virus'...I have no disorientation....but I can tell it's getting worse like it did last time and definately don't want to be laid up within bed for 3 weeks straight throwing up and unable to eat or work again!! So far I've been treating both problems beside my normal meds, benadryl, a spray for my throat, and some topical cream for the rash...hands are other washed, we use sanitizer all the time...what more can I do?!
Answers:
Honestly, your doctor who has access to your test and sees you personally is in the best position to lend a hand you.

If you have taken steroids they can shake up your immune system a lot.
Sorry your going through all this and you still enjoy to go to work! I was lucky and was on workers comp when my tumor approved to ripen and start acting up. I hope your "virus" gets better soon so you can function at work.
