My right breast has thick breast tissue.. and wanted me to do a 2nd mammogram subsequent week. should I be overly concerned? and could this possibly be cancer? just trying to be prepared if it is.. thanks everyone in credit for your answers
Answers:    This is extremely common, and by far most of the time is due to benign reasons. They are man safe and medically appropriate by following up with further images. It is possible it could be something serious, simply by the odds it is very unlikely.

are being incredibly cautious because it's abnormal tissue growth but not necessarily a tumor. If it is a tumor, it may still be benign. This is normal procedure when they return with those types of mammogram. The Dr may even do an ultra sound to view the tissue or an MRI. I had both. Just be indebted that if it is cancer, you caught it in time and it's very easy to treat. Another entity that is very common is fibroid tumors. They will show up as a mass too. these are other non cancerous. If you are very young, it just may be benign. Keep settle down, I know how hard it is to wait and wait. God bless you. I want you all the best. Source(s): RN breast cancer survivor
I truly doubt it is anything bad -- like all women automatically ponder when it comes to something "wrong" with our breasts. It could be just like they said, gelatinous tissue that made it difficult to get a good scan, or you could have something fibrous going on -- which is super adjectives and not life threatening or anything like that. I also think if the radiologist thought you have anything dangerous happening, you would have be called by your own doctor who would have asked you to come into the office where on earth he or she would have gone more in depth with you more or less the first results. I honestly think you have no worries. Good luck.
