One is to totally forget about anything she says about her cancer and offer NO sympathy. OR, subsequent time she makes any reference, ask her to fill you surrounded by on the details, at least by giving you more details. There is absolutely NO WAY her physician would not tell her parents unless the doctor be insane or wanted to lose his/her license. OR, you could ask her mother, in private, mentioning that you are her good friend and that you would close to to know more about her past battle beside cancer and how you could be of any help. That should blow the lid on the make-believe history. The choices are yours. It's sad for her that she would not be your best friend and know how to be completely honest with you.
