Some patients are shy because the problem possibly very personal. For example a girl patient will not tell the doctor what is wrong near her (maybe pregnant or STD) if her parents are with her. It would be better to ask the patient to talk contained by a separate room. Privacy and respect is the most important thing with patients. The merciful does not want their conditions to be known by anyone else and they do not want their conditions to be laughed at by anyone. Once these two things are ensured they will be more imagined to talk about their condition.
I think some patients are disconcerted or have a shy personality and that can really effect if a person is going to describe a doctor something important. Some also deny they have some condition, so they must just tolerate it slip from their train of thought. I think this is a big problem, I'm sure many conditions are misdiagnosed because of this. If a patient doesn't touch comfortable telling their doctor about their conditions, I don't know who they will go to.
