Am I at risk for bladder cancer?
I'm 18, and very prone to bladder infections. I don't get them very much anymore since I've be taking cranberry supplements everyday, but when I was younger I got them all the time. I've probably already have around 10-15 UTI's. Now I'm worried about getting bladder cancer. If I continue to take cranberry supplements and not grasp UTI's anymore (hopefully), will I be at less risk? How often should I be tested for it? Every time I have a UTI, I hold to pee in a cup...can they tell if I have cancer that channel?

As to weather or not you get cancer this is a
question you really need to discus beside your
family doctor. But if you keep up the cranberry
Cranberry's are great antioxidant.
Good luck and stay sound. Source(s): cancer survivor and ex nurse.
No I don't think they can tell. I believe it is more of a genetic entry, plus how you are living. You could just be prone to bladder infections.
Either way don't worry roughly speaking it since it doesn't help, just remember you are your own person and not a statistic. Just pinch care of your body and do the best you can, that's about all you can control, but at most minuscule it should help you sleep better at night.
Multiple UTIs are not a risk factor for bladder cancer and there is nothing you can do to decrease your risk. Although within are a lot of good things about cranberries and as you know they work for UTIs. There isn’t a screening exam for bladder cancer. Sometimes malignant cell can be found in the urine, but it isn’t reliable for screening purposes. Source(s): I am a cancer registrar.
Your risk of bladder cancer is just the same as anyone else.
