Am I to Young for Colon Cancer?
I have had bowel problems most of my life (flat stool, blood, cramps) 4 years ago at 22 I go for a colonoscopy and they found 1 small 1mm size polyp which turned out to be an adenoma. So I went back a year later and be clean. They said I have a spastic colon and hemmorhoids and come back contained by 3 years. It has been 3 years and I am terrified to step back. My symptoms are a little worse than before. Is it possible to own colon cancer 3 years after a clean colonoscopy at my age?
Answers: in recent times go get it done i know your scared but better to know ahead of time. conceivably its nothing serious just go and they will let somebody know you. dont worry unless you have to. you can make your self stressed and more sick by worrying
I think colon cancer grows really slow. Go get it done, especially if you're alarmed! Would you rather not know, and then it be too late? It's treatable if caught untimely, and since you had a clean colonoscopy at such a young age, not that long ago, later I think the dr is probably right about the whole spastic colon piece. Just go get it done, and ask about the exotic ultrasound they have, I'm not sure if everyone dose it yet, but they say pairing the 2 together, make the outcome clearer. And, if you doubt the dr, get a 2nd or 3rd or 4th opinion! But, don't hesitate anymore!
No, you're not too young. I was diagnosed myself at 20. Doctors said it be there since I was 15.
Colon cancer is very slow growing. If they do find a polyp, the probability that its advanced colon cancer are very low. So don't worry. Just have your colonoscopy and put your mind at effortlessness. The point of regular colonoscopies is to find and remove the cancer before it is advanced.
Go wager on to the doctor for Your own peace of mind. You could just have another little polyp, or you could have Irritable Bowel Syndrome or colitis. It will be the best piece and then you won't have to worry something like it anymore. Whatever it is, best to take care of it before it does develop into something more serious.
After 3 years .??
ife ( who have colon cancer) and I were at6 a presentation on colon cancer, and the guest speaker was a surgeon. Someone asked him " what is the yougest patient you ever have with colon cancer. " His reply, " 19.."
You may be terrified, but what is worse, knowing what s going on, or not knowing what is going on?.
Call and make that appointment.
