I a moment ago found out my dad have melanoma lung cancer...suggestion anybody?

My dad just called me a while ago to tell me the results of his biopsy. He have a small growth on his lung which turned out to be melanoma. He had a melanoma growth removed from his back a few years ago, and everything turned out okay. I always thought of melanoma to be a form of skin cancer. My dad is have surgery next week and I am so scared.
Answers:     I'm sorry to hear in the region of your dad. I'm a cancer survivor myself. I had non Hodgkin's lymphoma. I was suppose to have six to eight chemo treatments. After the second treatment I go for my PET scan and it was all gone, not even a trace! I had everyone praying for me and I myself kept the religious conviction that God was gonna take it away, and Praise God He did! That was eight months ago and I'm still cancer free! Just trust contained by Him and pray constantly. Claim your blessings. God is so good. I'll be praying for your dad and please read your Bible. Pray, pray, pray. With God all things are possible, I know this is true, cause He answered my prayers.
Sorry to hear this, but the doctors know best. I also suggest you google 'Clinical and preclinical trials of Resveratrol on Cancer" its a 58 page report by M D Anderson Cancer center in Huston. He can get resveratrol from most places, but can also e-mail the doctors doing the studies at mdanderson.org. friend had three tumors and given 3 months to live and took the stuff and is immediately ok and it's been four years. It has been on Oprah, Yahoo nad adjectives over the place. If you go to 700 Club, they had a doctor who wrote a book about it, he be a heart surgeon. Good luck and hope for a speedy recovery. By the way our nurse had a double mastectomy and her doctor have had her take it for over eight years now to engineer sure it doesn't come back.

also they have done studies and used tumeric. The main doctor is Aggarwal.
Melanoma is a skin cancer and there is no such entry as a melanoma lung cancer. Your dad does not have lung cancer. He has skin cancer (melanoma) in his lung. From what you are dictum it came from his back. Source(s): I am a cancer registrar.
My melanoma mestasized to my lungs in the region of two months ago. I have no surgery planned. Melanoma is more serious when it hits the internal organs. Surgery is the best treatment for melanoma. They will not have any definate answers until after the surgery.
Melanoma is a very serious skin cancer because it can metastasize honourably quickly. What that means is that the cancer does not stay on the skin, it grows underneath the skin and at some point 'metastasizes' which means it transport out hundreds of 'cancer cells' that seed into the blood stream and travel all over the body. This is what happened beside your Dad. One of the first places a 'met' shows up is in the lung because the blood travels there frequently. Other places it may show up are the liver or brain, although it can be any place. A met is a new tumor growing specifically still a melanoma cancer, but now it has spread.
Dad has melanoma that have metastasized to his lungs . . which means he will be considered a Stage IV. His disease is treatable and as long as the disease is confined to the lung and not found elsewhere he may do well. There are no guarantees though.

It might help you to find out more information give or take a few the disease:
