Abnormal blood work?!!?

so i went to my new doctor to get a checkup yesterday morning and they asked me adjectives the usual questions then they drew blood and made me give them a urine taste, then he checked my ears, eyes, back, legs, knees, feet, listen to my heart and breathing. i received a call from a recorded machine that stated that my blood work be abnormal and i needed to contact the office to schedule a follow up appointment so they can address it. Does anyone know why my blood work would come rear legs abnormal like what can cause it to be atypical??
Answers:    The answer to your question is of course dependent on exactly what blood tests be run! Typically, a doctor will run a CBC (Complete Blood Count) and a CMP (Complete Metabolic Panel) on new patients. The CBC measures things like red and white blood cell count, platelet count, Hemoglobin and Hematocrit, and red blood cell indicies. The CMP addresses the chemical components of the blood (which includes among other things liver enzymes, thyroid hormone, creatinie, Blood Urea Nitrogen, etc. etc. So short knowing specifically what tests showed abnormailities (either higher or lower values than expected). After you have the repeat test, ask your doctor to explain what each component of the test indicates.....but be specific with your question. Many people believe a blood test is a single entity---which it clearly is not, there are several, many blood tests, each designed to determine a specific blood parameter.
