Out-of-nowhere bruises?
i have several bruises on my knee, my backside and just below my rib pen, but the thing is i know i didn't fall or hit anything; they seemed to enjoy just cropped up out of nowhere since the night before yesterday and they look pretty startling.
ven't been having any abnormal or excessive bleeding, and bar the bruises i feel okay but more sore and achy all over than per usual, and i can't find the thermometer, but i think i might hold a slightly elevated temperature.
my parents haven't noticed because i mostly wear pajamas all sunshine, and also i've been wearing mostly jeans when i do go out. should i just not take home a big hoo-ha of things and wait until i get my labs back? my ultimate platelet count was on the 23/7, the reading was somewhere around 135 which is normal for me. so contained by all likehood isn't it likely that it's nothing except, at worst, a transient dip in platelets? only i'm worried maybe it could also signify sth else approaching the beginning of a transformation? (i have B-PLL, which stands for B-cell prolymphocytic leukemia, which is neither an acute or chronic leukemia, but it's closest to CLL)
are i worrying unneccesarily or is this something i should let my onco know soon? or should i wait and see if more bruises appear and let the ones i enjoy now go away on their own because it might not be a big issue? if possible i don't want to dance back or stay because i have something on this weekend which i really don't want to miss!
Answers: Unexplained bruising is not normal, so you should communicate the appearance of this symptom to your oncologist.
It may meet your requirements to call his or her office and speak over the phone. Your oncologist needs to know more or less any significant changes to your health, so adjustments to treatment or other interventions can be made as appropriate. You will single be asked to come in for an office visit if something serious is suspected, which hopefully this is not.
not familiarized with your particular type of cancer, but I do know that bruising can be related platelet level, as you too are already aware. Platelet levels will come back, so if that is adjectives that's going on, this is not too serious of an issue.
Best wishes.
