Lying in the region of cancer within any defence is wrong right?

Is it illegal to pose yourself as having cancer and then back get money for the cause, as long as you don't recieve any money personally?

Faking cancer or any disease can be considered a personality or mental disorder. It is called Münchausen syndrome.

There is also an online version of the disorder where on earth some people fake having a serious bug like cancer. They are usually easily detected by anyone who has be around cancer patients . . . but people unfamiliar with cancer may be fooled:

Soliciting money below false pretenses constitutes criminal fraud. Depending upon the amount of money involved and your previous criminal record, the penalty could range from probation to several years contained by prison.
