We are sorry for that. Yes it means it have spread to the liver which is very dangerous. Just keep dependence and hope that he survives some more years. I pray for him too.
No one knows. Every person is an individual and not a statistic. He will need to examine his own situation and spawn choices based on his age, overall health, and treatment options.
e can get hold of back into treatment than his focus should be on controlling the cancer . . living with the disease and quality of energy. These are all good goals. He should come together support groups such as Colon Cancer Alliance where he can talk to others and exchange current treatment options and other resources.

Good luck to you both.
The outcome will depend on if the lymph nodes are positive or not and what the primary site is. It is unusual for colon cancer to recur in lymph nodes, but it is possible. From your description I can’t tell if they are regional lymph nodes or distant ones that will also make a difference contained by the outcome. Source(s): I am a cancer registrar.
I am sure you are intensely worried, as I would be. Go with him to the doctor with a list of question. Write down your questions and concerns ahead of time, so that you know more about the condition.
Hope and prayer are powerful tools.
ecurrent cancer, I believe that a clinical trial should always be on your short list of things to consider. Cancer is not an straightforward foe, as you know.

I've have been through two clinical trials and I'm on my third one now. Ask the doc almost clinical trials. Spend a lot of time on the net at www.pubmed.gov looking for papers on his cancer. It will take a long time next to a common cancer like colon cancer. You might search on continuing colon cancer, etc to cut down on the responses. Look for the leaders in his cancer problem, recurrent cancer.

This is a tough situation to be in. Gather all your facts and try to make a reasoned choice. Again, I believe in tough cases, you need to consider a clinical trial from a reputable institution.

Significant advances are one made daily. We are at a tipping point in my opinion, when underlying science is giving us new leads all of the time.
I'd discount Gerson etc therapies. If they worked, you'd know about it. These 'fad treatments' across the world just waste time and money. He's past the time for mild treatments, IMO. The diet mojo isn't as strong as conventional medication mojo. However, look into vitamin D. The evidence in prevention is very strong, and in treatment sometimes can extend survival.

Eat a healthy, plant-based diet for general good form.

Also, it is tough to utter, but getting one's affairs in order is always a virtuous idea for every one of us. You never know what is going to happen. A member of our church only just had a massive heart attack with absolutely no symptoms beforehand. Just go to show.

Faith and prayers always help, too. As does a good social web. Your caring and interest are going to be a big help to him. Source(s): www.pubmed.gov

You could try google penetrating the "Gerson Therapy" and "Dr. Max Gerson". It is mostly organic fruit and vegetable juices (vegetarian diet). I don't agree with the coffee enema section through...
you could look into Cancer Centers of America, where they combine traditional therapies with alternative treatments.

Also you could look into experimental treatments at
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov and type surrounded by "colon cancer" in the search engine. Hit the map tab to find local trials.
fasting and prayer can sustain. Fasting is like a magnifying glass for prayer.

Check beside the oncologist before making any radical changes that could affect any chemotherapy or radiation that he is man given.
