What are lymph nodes?

Answers:    Lymph nodes are small pieces of tissue where your body's immune system stores a lot of white blood cell in order to fight infections. The tonsils are examples of lymph nodes that are contained by the throat, and are visible to the eye. When a person has infections contained by the throat, like strep throat or mono, the tonsils can become very large and even threaten to block the flow of food, beverage, and nouns! Yikes! When a person has enlarged tonsils, we sometimes remove them surgically.
lymph nodes in the body only just rest in place, filtering the fluid draining from various areas of the body and the blood, helping to protect us from infections by channel of their collections of thousands to millions of white blood cells. White blood cells are an important module of our immune system because they can fight infections by gobbling up viruses and germs or by secreting antibodies.

Did you know that the spleen is an organ in the body, and it is also a lymph node? It's a huge lymph node (and more), and if a person loses their spleen (perhaps from a rupture following an luck or injury) they are more at risk of certain infections. When patients lose their spleen due to any number of reasons, physicians should give persuaded vaccinations (immunisations) to help prevent infections that are more common when the spleen is gone.
