I assume i enjoy lung cancer?
i am a smoker of 5 years and today i woke up with this severe pain in the gone side of my chest - very sharp and heavy

I don't think you hold lung cancer! I would check the heart though.
Severe pain in the left side of your chest is the side your heart is. It could be anything, at worse a heart attack. Seriously, I don't deem that is a symptoms of lung cancer. Please see the link below for symptoms:
Any type of chest pain is considered serious and urgent, if and when it happen again you should go straight to your local hospital into the A&E. In the meantime, book an appointment with your gp - they will send you for an ECG, blood test etc.

Not lung cancer if was your heart you would also hold got out of breath could be cramp or indigestion but i would go doctors to be past the worst good luck xx
google it and you will get more info than you want . there are several types of lung cancer - some they can operate on ,some they cant. If you get small cell lung cancer its the worse category. go get checked out if you are worried.
Probably not cancer maybe indigestion try laying on a hard surface next to a pillow under your stomach..Hope this helps, if not contact your Dr
