I be diagnosed near cervical dysplasia ending Christmas and have a biopsy?
The results were 'ungradeable' and I was refered to a Gynocologist. He performed an nouns in Feb. and booked me in for a cone biopsy. I am a single parent with two children still at home and adjectives the family overseas. I lost my job last year and my ex is a severe alcoholic and gambler. I own been putting off the next biopsy due to finances (I hold to travel 4 hours to) and honestly because I don't have any family support. I'm now seeing the specialist on Wed. and pretty anxious... Any advice

d the Cone surgery, and all I can say is that you Should own it as soon as you can...it is a easy surgery. The whole thing took ony 30 minutes, and I go home a little while after..You will be a little sore, but it is really worth it. I was told if I did not hold it done, it could lead to cervical cancer...So, please do what your doctor tells you, you will be glad that you did...Good luck
"Ungradeable"? That worries me. It's not really a diagnosis. Did the gynecologist give you and actual diagnosis? There are 3 level of abnormality: CIN 1, CIN 2, and CIN 3. The gynecologist should have done a biopsy to determine which you have. Do you have copies of your medical library? If not, I suggest you ask for them.
Did the gyno recommend a LEEP or a cold knife cone? Both remove a cone shaped piece of tissue from the cervix. The LEEP usues and electrified wire that cauterizes and it cuts. It takes place contained by the doctor's office and takes about 20 minutes. (The actual procedure itself take only a few seconds.) The cold knife cone take longer and is usually done under general anesthesia.
Still, this is something you need to follow up on and take seriously! Take vigilance of yourself!
