Yes. I wished they had gotten me an appt sooner than the 3 weeks they give me. Right after they got the results of my colposcopy, I was scheduled surrounded by the OR the following week !
No. It simply means that something came up that didn't look right and they wonna investigate further. Same thing happen to me. Did you have sex the day before the regular exam? That's why they give an account you not to because it can cause the test to be abnormal. Turns out mine be cancer. After that I had another appt. to freeze the cells off next to liquid nitrogen. I'm only 22, so they wanted to try and consent to me keep my uterus. It was an outpatient thing and I go home after like an hour. There are several different ways they can remove the cells without removing the uterus. Laser, freezing, cutting(like they will do for the biopsy). It adjectives depends on how advanced and how much there is. The removing processes are typically painless, and over with pretty quick. Only setback is an aweful discharge for resembling 6wks and NO sex:( Hard for a newleywed like I was. LOL. I wish you the best of luck!

And to LILY L...I have a test done religiously each year on the dot and my cancer come up inbetween those visits. So, yes, it can come quickly. I KNOW BECAUSE I WENT THROUGH IT! And the preventative measuresi described above about how commonly I had to visit afterwords is hoe they do it here. May not be the same where on earth you are. Back to topic....Just because it's abnormal doesn't mean anything is wrong. Stuff like that happen just like a false positive on a pregnancy test (same entry can happen with a smear). And, yes, they could have a moment ago given you the first availiable appointment they had.
