What do you do if somebody with Type 1 diabetes passes out? How do you take guardianship of them until they wake up? Should you take them to the hospital?
Answers: definitely telephone call 911. if you know its because of low blood sugar, keep some jelly beans on hand and give it to them. red juice or glucose tabs are a good substitute. it'll get up them right up. do take them to the hospital tho because you should make sure that their insulin and everything else is in the right doses. they can pass by out when there is too much sugar and insulin is not administered in the right doses as well. First make sure they can breath alright from the spatter. Position head so breathing is easy. Call 911. If they are completely passed out, do not try to put anything in their mouth or throat. First you could choke them and block their airway, second you don't know if their sugar is too low or too dignified. Wait for help, they will know exactly what to do. If you are in a place that might take a while for the paramedics to attain there, ask for instructions on how to check their sugar if a machine is available. Then if sugar is too low, put a little syrup beneath the tongue, just a very little. Unless you are trained their is nothing you can do for a giant blood sugar. So wait for help...
There is really nothing you can do for them after they pass out. Sit this person up and try to achieve icing in his/her mouth or coke. If they didn't respond to this, call 911.
On their wrist within should be a wrist band for their diabetes.
There should be an emergency number on it, normally it's on the top.

if you catch a really low blood sugar previously they pass out then you have to confer them that glucagone (not sure how to spell) shot..
they may be unconscious or incoherent or belligerent. If totally out, phone up 911, you cannot help them. If still able to swallow, give them a coke or juice(not diet) the boost contained by sugar will bring them out of it within 20 minutes...only if they are still able to swallow...they should show you how to use a glucagon emergency utensils for this kind of event which can be life threatening
