Animas pump 2020 should i take it or not?
Hey, i've had diabetes for 13 years. ive been on the cosmo pump for about 3 but get off it about 8months ago, i found it was a really ominous pump, had so many troubles and problems with it, it be unbelievable. Now my four years is up, so with my health fund i capture a new pump. Im leaning towards the Animas 2020. Does anyone have one? or enjoy any info on it they would like to share with me?
hear that Animas has a decent pump, but their customer service has be poor - maybe they've gotten better. I would recommend Minimed personally, plus your insurance might eventually cover the CGMS system to go next to it. I would instinctively use Minimed. I know Animas is good, but from what I hear from friends, they seem to have problems and break smoothly. I know with minimed for the 7 years I have had it I hold had little problems (and if I did it was because I dropped it) But even so they sent me one within 12 hours and be very helpful on the phone. (So if you like customer service in connection with your pump that is good too)
I am not degrading Animas, it has excellent features, but I hear it is severely prone to breaking and can be difficult to use.
Either way, pumps rock and I hope you enjoy it!
I don't know almost the Animas 2020, but my sister started using an Animas pump over 6 years ago and loves it. She's never really had any problems with it. I think she upgraded to a unsullied version once or twice and one time something broke or went wrong, but we contacted animas and they overnight mailed us a untried one to replace it. I think she had to switch to injections for like, partly a day... not a big deal. The only other brand I really know anything in the order of is Minimed. Those are the two her doctor suggested. I don't know anything about the Animas pump, but I can tell you that my son have a Minimed pump and it's been very helpful and have easy to use features. If you go to www.integrateddiabetes.com or www.childrenwithdiabetes.com you can find side by side comparisons of the pump. I forget if I found the comparisons on both those sites or not, but I know one of them does. Both sites are helpful.
Animas pumps rock! The latest model, the Ping allows you to bolus from your meter, minus ever touching the pump. It also has a food database that you can customize so if you go out to eat, the carb counts for your favorite restaurant are within the pump and the meter! You can also change the alarm tones to custom tones if you are musical at all. The screen is color and deeply easy to read (I had problems reading the MiniMed pump screen). Also the pump is waterproof so you do not enjoy to take it off if you like to swim.
joy found that their customer service is AWESOME, I have had to call at weird hours and no matter what time I call, a really helpful soul is there to help me out. The Animas pump will be integrated with the DexCom CGMS soon so if you want a CGMS that integrates near your pump, it is coming soon. I have a animas ping i have been useing for 2 months,It is the best item that has happen to me in 42years of taking insulin. The relations that work for animas are Angels 24 hours a day
