Am I doing a tour to diabetes?
I tend to eat a lot of sugar...I can't stop my cravings for sweet things, i recently consumed roughly a pound of chocolate within four days! I know that too much sugar can be very damaging because the body is not designed to switch that much. I cannot see myself sticking to the daily requirements because it is such a little amount. My mother has diabetes, but she developed it from counterweight gain and i don't think it is genetic.
I want to be more healthy so is there a road to stop my sweet tooth? If i keep my habits up will I develop diabetes? I am only 16 and I am 5' 4" and 105 lbs...my mom is constantly alarm me of diabetes but in reality what are the odds of me getting it?
Answers: First off, yes it is genetic. That doesn't mean you are for sure gonna get it. But if it runs surrounded by the family you are more likely than others. My mom had it and at 34 I am borderline right immediately. Watch your weight, eat healthy and don't sweat it to much. You are 16, enjoy a candy bar now and then, only don't have 3 at one time. Don't let your health slip and you'll be fine. Good luck and own fun.

It is misleading to right to be heard that diabetes is genetic. What runs in families is a predisposition for becoming diabetic - so if you mom is diabetic, you may well hold a predisposition toward becoming diabetic. Both protein and fat slow down the absorption rate of sweets, which puts less of a nouns on your insulin. It's still not as healthy as refraining from refined sugar, but it will weather the storm a little.
Starting to pilfer care of yourself and eat healthy presently could save you a whole lot of stress later surrounded by life, and will also help you feel more energized, focused, attractive, etc... There's not much to lose! Start near attainable goals - like only using partially as much sugar in your coffee, or eating one cookie instead of two, or only consumption sweets every other day. Find what works for you. Your mom might be a great resource and partner in changing your behaviour.
A little work now can save you so much work later, that it is really worth it to pinch care of yourself.
