What if Im diognosed near diabetes?

Diabetes runs in my dad's side of the family. If I am diagnosed with type 1 or 2, will I entail to go to the hospital? Will anything hurt that they do to me there? Will I be hooked up to a bunch of tubes? And what kinds of clothes do kids/teens be at the AI dupont children's' hospital in delaware?
Answers:    Seriously you need to relax. You don't even have any symptoms and presently you're asking what kind of clothes you may wear if you were to be hospitalized? You probably don't have diabetes! Even if you be diagnosed, that doesn't mean you'll end up in the ICU connected to tubes or catheters. You may not even be hospitalized, and that's IF you even own diabetes, which you probably DON'T.
It adjectives depends on what type you get and your blood glucose levels. If your levels are incredibly high or very low then it might be basic to put you on an Intravenous Infusion (drip/iv) which can be slightly uncomfortable when they put the needle in. The single other thing that will be done 3/4 times a day is to test your blood glucose level and this is a small prick normally on the finger which can sting sometimes but you do get used to it. There may be a genetic link within both types of diabetes but type 1 is less prevalent than type 2 and there is nothing at the moment to prevent type 1. In the uk anyone within hospital wears their own clothes but I do not know about Delaware sorry.
Remember by eating a fit diet, taking plenty of exercise and keeping your weight under control you will lessen your chances of getting type 2. The best piece for you to do would be to learn what you can about diabetes and be aware of the symptoms and then try not to consent to worrying about it affect your life to much, you may never develop it at all and why tolerate it ruin your life. If your are diagnosed you do learn to live with it relatively quickly. Source(s): retired nurse/diabetic
rely spent some time reading the A.I. Duponte Childrens hospital website. Here is a bit about what clothes to bring:
"sleepwear; robe; slippers; washable, casual clothing; underwear; and socks for your child."
From that statement it sounds like you can wear run of the mill clothes for the day. If you go to the website you can go on a virtual tour, conceivably that will help. I can't find anything about diabetes on it, sorry.
Well for one, I sure wouldn't be stressing about the clothes you have to wear in a hospital sweetie. XD If you're diagnosed beside diabetes I'm sure you'll BE in a hospital. (While they're diagnosing you.) And maybe after for monitoring. I don't remember though, I was 2 when I be diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. And nothing hurt. They pricked my big toe when I was contained by the hospital at 2 years old and it didn't hurt a bit. (: Don't worry, it's a manageable disease and it doesn't hurt.
