Diabetes mass gain due to insulin?

when i be 17 i got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. i had one and the same problem. one of the symptoms of diabetes is weight loss. the reason you lose weight formerly you get diagnosed is because your cells are starving. youre cell are not getting the nutrients it needs since the sugar is building up in your blood and not moving to your cells.
soon that you are taking insulin and your body is no longer in starvation mode you are going to gain weight and you will have to survey what you eat. its good to eat foods that dont angle your sugar as much. try lower carbs (less bread, pasta) and more veggies and protiens.

the most important thing right now is to enjoy a good level of blood sugars to avoid complications from having prolonged soaring sugars over time.

good luck!

PS... INSULIN DOES NOT EQUAL FAT
It's normal to put on some weight after you're first diagnosed and treated with insulin. You probably lost a bit beforehand, so you're putting hindmost on what you lost. However, we're not exactly sure why people on insulin have a hard time beside slight weight gain, but there seems to be more attention on the subject lately. Personally, keeping my carbs at <120g per afternoon, ideally <100g per day, has really helped me lose 1-2 lbs. a week when I obligation to. Even calorie counting hasn't helped...even intense exercise...only keeping my carbs under control.
iew is that the more insulin we take, the more we tend to pack on a few...but many dieticians insist it's not the insulin, it's that we eat too oodles calories. But that doesn't make any sense in my case. Maybe it's a side effect of using artificial insulin, I don't know. Source(s): Type 1 for 25 years
Weight gain from taking insulin is normal. Your body is
now processing sugar in the conventional way and that means
that the sugar is being used to provide heartiness while any
excess is stored as fat for later use when the sugar getting
mbling your "normal" diet is too carbohydrates loaded for your
needs. Along with the insulin, a diabetic must also eat
a rigidly maintain balance of sugar intake with the
insulin. One mistake diabetics often net is to eat what
l. While the insulin is the indirect basis of your weight
gain, the side effects of no insulin are death. You have a
serious disease. I suggest you treat it as such.
Talk to a diabetic dietitian if you enjoy questions as to
what tou should eat and how much you eat within controlling
your diabetes.
The problem in taking insulin is that its allied to weight gain and sometimes big gains like 15 to 20 pounds. Try drinking more veggies like carrots, cucumbers or celery as a snack and maintain a hearty diet. But you should be aware that its going to hard real hard to hang on to the weight off.
