Am I on top form though a diabetic?? Please sustain.?
I am a diabetic diagnosed two months before. I have taken only two fast blood tests (10 hours of fasting one empty stomach after the ultimate meal). First one was 115 and the second one was 133. I did not take any test after that. I do not have a glucose meter also.
llow the normal diet of fish, vegetables, brown bread (bakery product), green apple. Once in a week I do devour either chicken, mutton or beef.
Early morning on empty stomach, I do drink water of fenugreek seed soaked overnight.
I have lost 6 kilos of bodyweight due to exercise and totally avoiding aerated drinks and cookies in the last two months after individual diagnosed as a diabetic.
Do I still need to monitor my glucose?? I feel my vision is not that proper. Otherwise I do not quality any real discomfort.
se advise. I am living in Dubai and we bring Accucheck glucose meters here. Are these okay.

Can you get the South Beach diet and cook books? You should be able to achieve one at a library. Not familiar with the culture in Dubai so I cannot insist on you on much other than avoid root vegetables, most grain and cereal products as much as possible. Also soft sweet fruits are a real glucose raiser for most of us. Milk products of any animal are to some extent high carbohydrate foods also.
For sure you need to keep the bread to a minimum. Even the brown full grain breads are a bit higher in carbohydrates than most of us would prefer.

The doctor should have done a blood draw to capture an HbA1c result. This is the average of about 3 months glucose averages. It is the percentage of glucose molecules clinging to the red blood cells and is expressed in a percentage number beside 5 being ideal.
numbers are not too horridly high, but you could catch some better control there, maybe. Keep doing what you are doing now as it seem to be helping you to lose weight and that really counts. It helps the body to not be quite so insulin resistant so the organic sugars found in foods of plant source to work better in your system.
