Am I a hypocondriact? Use of diabetic lancet.?

Can you get a disease if someone checks your blood sugar with their auto lancer device after adding a verbs lancet? I am 8 mths pregnant and fainted and a friend used their auto lancer device with a clean lancet and checked by blood sugar. How unsafe is that?? The person who checked it is a nurse and said it was ok. My finger was swabbed beside alchol and the actual needled was new.

Do you suspect your friend of having HIV, Hepatitis B or C, or some other disease transmittable by a needle? If not, why are you worried?

IF the lancet device had some contamination and was not cleaned after it's barely, barely possible that you could have contracted something approaching HIV or Hep. The contamination would have to be fairly recent. I think that the contamination would enjoy to be still liquid, though I'm not sure. Most people keep their lancet devices particularly clean.

You're fine. You can use like peas in a pod device... as long as the lancet was new, you're fine... the alcohol swab was a angelic added measure. Don't worry about it... you're individual going to do yourself harm if you worry this far along in your pregnancy. Congrats on the unmarked baby!
Common sense, where on earth has it gone. Worry wart... New lancet , alcohol ?What could be the problem? You could die from worrying. At least get profoundly of facial wrinkles.

That's totally fine, no risk there. My husband even uses my lancet to check and he's been fine. I tick off him about it, but it's very low risk because the lancet is exposed to air for so long between pricks. You can also re-use your own lancets on yourself for dozens of times...even hundreds as long as it doesn't hurt.
