Am I a pre-diabetic or already a diabetic?

I'm 18 years old and unfortunately have not be leading a healthy lifestyle.
, he took it again today and it was 119 (I have not eaten in 2 hours but my meal have been pretty heavy).
He thinks I'm pre-diabetic.
Is this true!?
And if so, is there a accident in "saving" myself?

lol your a goner. naw im kidding!
is on the big end of normal.
Normal blood sugar level is 80 - 120 beyond this or below this is said to be soaring or low.here is a web site that you can find a lot of answers. http://www.diabetes.hyipcenter.com
Only your doctor can determine whether you are diabetic or "PRE" diabetic. Your range is still in the normal list depending you have had food. You really need to win a test called an A1C which will tell you how long respectively of your cells holds sugar molecules and how much sugar you consume. But as of now with the test on your blood glucose alone, your readings are just right. If you are concerned, make a DR appt.
the numbers don't sound unpromising. if your dad is diabetic, watch the sugar.
Your a diabetic! :) sorry!
These readings are BOTH in the ordinary range. 70-120. If you had eaten 2 hours in the past then these readings are perfect. I don't believe your pre-diabetic but you should check beside your doctor just in case. Either opening it will not hurt you to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Your father has type 2 diabetes which increases your chances of becoming a type 2 diabetic. Type 2 diabetes may go off in people as young as 12 years feeble BUT this is true for those who are 'obese'. We have a fairly 'precise' definition of obese based upon body mass index for those age 25 or elder. For an 18 year old it is more difficult to determine. If you email me your gender, height, and counterbalance I will calculate and comment on your BMI. My email is johnerussomd(a)jhu.edu. For a non-diabetic a fasting glucose is typically 70 to 100 mg/dL (3.9 to 5.6 mmol/L for those not in the US) - after a banquet the glucose typically rises but not above 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L). Therefore your glucose readings are normal. I do not believe that the term 'pre-diabetic' should be used. There is in the region of a 10 year period of damage prior to the glucose elevating to the point where the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes is competent to be made. Thus in my opinion a person is any not a diabetic, an early diabetic, or an established diabetic. You should not take your father's diabetes as a 'death' sentence. Yes - genetics does increase your risk - but not a soul is able to tell you the probability that you will become a diabetic. A healthy lifestyle for sure minimizes the risk. A healthy lifestyle involves good dietary habits near plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, maintaining a body mass index of 25 kg/M2 or less, and exercising daily. You are not a diabetic nor a pre-diabetic at this time, and I hope that you never will be. I preference you the very best of health and may God Bless.
