what led you to see your doctor and get a diagnosis?
Answers:     Ive been diabetic for about a year now, i get it last summer while i was i california. i lost about 20-35. i drank alot of hose i mean ALOT, and pee'd alot, so hopefully that helps, :D

I be skeletal skinny, so my mom took me to the doctor one day and they told me that my blood sugar was over 1000 when the norm is anywhere between 70-115. After i started taking insulin shots, i gained 20 lbs contained by 2 weeks :] Source(s): 3 year Type 1 Diabetic
my father found out when he had his eye exam. the doctor looked inside the eye and told my father he was a diabetic and should see his clan doctor. there was retina damage, i guess. other ethnic group i know just had a horrible unquenchable thirst. i found that i was especially itchy, i scratched my arms till they bled- when an unusual symptom appears, we go to the doctor, and they find out its diabetes.
I felt thirsty during summer season. I drank sweet aerated waters but my thirst individual increased. when I drank lemon juice with salt, my thirst diminished. One of my friend have suggested that I may have diabetes. So I tested for type 2 diabetes at the age of 53. The result: Fasting blood sugar-250 mg/dL; Postprandial blood sugar-400 mg/dL. from France, and I was mooving to America (L.A) for a couple of years, so before departure, and because I don't trust the American medical systeme, I went to my doctor in France, he did a complete check up on me and full blood tests, and that how I found out I be type 2 diabetic.
Probleme : I only stayed 2 years in America because the medecin I need be almost 1200$ a month, while in France it is free.
With so much routine screening being carried out on patients who attend the GP surgery for any purpose many mild diabetics are detected before they own any symptoms at all.

I am 23 and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 8. I lost a lot of counterweight, got up several times a night to use the bathroom, and was tired constantly. My grandfather have diabetes and checked my blood sugar on his meter. It was over 600 so my mom took me straight to my pediatrician who admitted me into the hospital the same hours of daylight. Stayed for 3 days, and the rest is history!
I felt ill most of the time approaching I had the flu all the time. Then I realized that I'd be very thirsty, especially at night and had be getting up to go to the bathroom about 3 or 4 times a night. This didn't come about suddenly, it took a few years, that's why it didn't really jump out at me.
d other symptoms too, I realized something serious be going on. I got checked for diabetes because it runs in my family.

I own type 2 and its controlled with insulin and reduced carb intake.

I recommend that everyone get an HbA1c interview EVERY year at their annual checkup, especially if they are over 40, or overweight.

I went to the doctor in connection with a nut allergy and they done blood tests and confirmed that i am type 2 .... Oh and i got a Epi-pen for my nut allergy........ Im 29!
