A few question going on for diabetes?
diabetes runs in my family, my mom, grandma and cousin have it so she is worried i might own it..because i explaned things to her like..ive been peeing alot lately (i always hold peed alot but its more now), im thirsty alot, ive lost like 10 lbs randomly (without eating differently), and ive be tired alot...she thinks they might be signs of diabetes thats why she wants to test. im 19 and she requests to test my blood sugar to see if i have diabetes next time she comes over to my house. i havent really talk to her about what i have to do, she said something about not consumption before hand....how long cant i eat for previously she tests me and how will she know if i have it or not?
Answers: Someone has given you some pretty high figures for normals when you testing your blood sugar. Normal is 80 to 120 and doctors are pushing for 70. Two hours after you eat your sugars should be back in the common range. You need to check your sugars at various times during the daytime and before and after eating to be accurate over a period of time. I hold problems with am readings because my liver produces glucose over night and my reading can go pretty high unless I am very vigilant with what I eat. Being thirsty and then have to pee a lot is a real warning signal that you are have problems. You can also be prediabetic and have much more subtle warnings. Go go any of the diabetic trellis sights and look for all the warning signs so that you are informed. You would be very knowledgeable to control your eating at this point in your life, diabetic or not. It is a progressive disease and if you are going to receive it, you can hold it off for a very very long time by taking steps very soon. Please take what I am saying very greatly seriously. Once you are diagnosed your whole life will revolve around trying to deal near the disease and hold it off if you want to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible. Read everything you can and know all that you can to protect yourself. If you are diagnosed and your doctor doesn't give the impression of being to really do what is necessary to give you the meds and information to keep your sugars down. . .find another doctor and there are specialist just for diabetes. The fact that you are tired can be the result of carbing out. . .your sugar get high and you get tired and at some point you will just leak asleep. Keep your sugars where they should be and you will feel great. I would suggest that she come over first thing within the am and take your blood sugar. Then go out and eat a typical breakfast. . .not a lot of sugar but what you normally would eat. . .dawdle 2 hours and see where you are. If you are type II, you tend to gain weight and type I lose weight. I'm type II and don't hold any info for type I. Lots of luck. . .
Before testing your glucose level, you should swiftly overnight and take you sugar leverls in the morning. If your sugar level is above 200 you should see a doctor because you probably hold diabetes, but there is two types of diabetes.
1-usually referred to as,"juvenile diabetes" and is common in adolescents
Type 2-usually occur in adults. you have a higher arbitrary of getting type two if you are older then 35.
I hope this helps :)
Your Mom is correct to be concerned about your present condition. If your Mom comes to the house, even if you hold eaten, then take the glucose check to determine your blood sugar. If you have fasted (this is called Fasting Blood Sugar experiment, i.e. you have not eaten for about 8 to 10 hours), the middle-of-the-road result for a non-diabetic would be around 80 mg/dl or 110 mg/dl. If you have diabetes, then the results could even go as far as 400 mg/dl. However, if your result would be around 140 to 150 mg/dl, afterwards you could have diabetes already. If you have already eaten, afterwards it's okay to take the glucose test too. If the result is more than 150 mg/dl, then you are a suspect for diabetes. So, consent to your Mom take your blood glucose to initially know whether you have diabetes or not. If after the test, you suspect you hold the disease, then it's time to go to the doctor and take more test to know the extent of your health condition. Good luck to you and God bless.
You can test your blood sugar either up to that time you eat in the morning or 1-2 hours after eating. It should be below 125 if fast and below 180 after eating. Your other symptoms do sound like diabetes. The best diagnosti interview is called an HA1C,, it is a simple blood test that your doctor can do. It tell your doc what your blood sugars hold been averaging for the last 3 months.
Wow! You stirred up a hornets nest of erroneous answers! I'm a type 1 and my experience tell me you should listen to: your mom, and the posts by Barb and Oscar. Otherwise, you got some wildly wrong answers that could even be dangerous if their warning was followed or at the very least worrisome for you. Diabetes is not nice but it is thoroughly manageable and if managed properly will not disrupt a person's life style. Best wishes to you however the theory test goes!
in addition to what u reported, if ur calf muscles below knees joints are aching and if u have reel sensation, u can go in for random blood sugar question paper, whch won't cost u much and at the same time u can have correct idea.
need to see a doctor if you are really worried. My nearest and dearest has a huge history of diabetes and I've been experiencing the same things as you. It is worrying me and I focus I might go see my Dad's doctor because he has diabetes, too. I don't think you can speak about if you have diabetes just by testing your blood sugar. A doctor would know for sure, though.
I hope you don't own it! Keep well!
