About a heart disease...?

Is there a incurable heart disease out there, which a 16 year old can grasp? Preferably one where you get diagnosed a year or so earlier...I'm writing a story for english class, and i can't come up near anything. It has to be concerning the heart, because it is part of my plot.

If you are trying to write about heart disease in a 16 year old you enjoy a very slim list of options to chose from. Aside from genetic defect at birth (such as enlarged heart/heart murmur...etc) the heart is quite typically a hearty muscle in babyish adults.

Something that might be easier to write about in young kids would be cancer, typically leukemia. While this disease is undercooked in young kids there is plentifully of research and information on this topic and might be easier to write about. Best of luck.
