20 year out-of-date womanly beside amazingly elevated cholesterol.... what to avoid/take?
Hello, I am a 20 year old female who just found out around 7 months ago that I have high cholesterol. Back in October (after fasting) i get a blood test to check all my blood, and oddly plenty my cholesterol came back at 234 and my "good cholesterol" be quite low. Well, 6 months later I got another lipids try-out and my bad cholesterol had increased and my overall cholesterol was at 243.
raised in a family where on earth we rarely ate meat, eggs, sugar, fat, or ANY unhealthy foods. After going to college I started ingestion hamburgers and steak VERY rarely, and eggs occasionally as well. BUT I still never eat quickly food and hardly touch meat in general. I also enjoy been a very active skier adjectives winter and am not overweight at all (I am 5'4'' and 118 pounds) I guess what I am saying is, this is purely genetic (I just found out my 24 year behind the times sister has cholesterol of 260)
My doctor told me to start taking Omega oils and Niacin and I know to avoid rich foods such as red meat and eggs, and to exercise more.... but any lists or suggestions on what foods to avoid or put away more of (as well as any supplements) would be greatly appreciated.

Try eating salads and white meat (turkey, grilled chicken) for a while.
I would recommend you start by consuming fish 2-3 times a week, drink/eat 3 servings of low fat dairy per day and intake whole grains. I would avoid eating red meat and butter. Remember to verbs to engage in physical activity for at most minuscule 30 minutes five days a week. It is possible that your cholesterol is elevated because of genetics but nonetheless it is important that you try to control it.
No need to adhere to a diet in demand to control the level of cholesterol in the blood. According to recent studies, the use of widely available niacin helps to greatly muffle the risk of cardiovascular disease.
1) His trial diet during these two months should be such that he is willing to follow the rest of their lives.
2) There is no entail to adhere to a diet in order to control the height of cholesterol in the blood! This slogan is the title of my statements of principle to all patients with lipid problems.
