Can breast feed by hypertensive mother lead to anything related to hypertension to the infant?
Answers: if she take antihypertensive medications, they can pass thru the milk to the baby... not a flawless thing.
The baby will not "get" hypertension from mother, this is impossible but check the prescription she takes to ensure safety in breastfeeding. Source(s): Intensive Care RN
Hypertension, which is normally known as High Blood Pressure is a physical problem. Unless it is brought on by medications or something else the mother ingested, her Hypertension can not be transferred to the infant.
being said if the mother truly has high blood pressure, later she should be on medication to control it and should probably not being nursing the baby because of cross over of the drug into the breast milk.
