Does Fish Oil give support to beside cholesterol?

I have high cholesterol, triglycerides maily, the doctor prescribed some high octave Fish grease. Just wondering if anyone else had the same thing prescibed and does it work? I be on this thing called tricor and it did not agree with me i am 32 and it cause pains in muscles and pains everywhere, and still kind of suffering two years later. I like that the doctor prescribed a more natural solution than that god awful tricor. Any natural medicine/ solutions that you may have tried that worked please inform me.

There is some evidence that fish oil helps near cholesterol, but frankly, it's limited. Fish oil is great for joint throbbing, though, if you get enough EPA/DHA (about 3,000 mg daily). And it's also good for other aspects of heart form - blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, sudden cardiac death, lowering triglycerides, et al.
