Can anyone dispense me some information??
I'm 16 and the doctors are leaning towords my heart either being defective as contained by having a hole or the more likely cause that i own heart disease. what does that mean? can anyone give me info/ links about this? i dont own anyone to talk to so if you have gone thru this or have deal with a family member surrounded by this situation and would be willing to give me your email it would be grately appreicated. i am really scared. and confused. i simply want to be able to run around with my friends again and i dont know how to deal beside not being able to. does anyone have any warning or suggestions or anything that could help me?
Answers: Well having a hole in your heart, is heart disease its call Congenital heart disease. And don't worry, with a hole in your heart they can basically patch it up and you will be as good as new! Just wait till you see a cardiologist and see what he/she say until then try not to worry so much. Im 16 years old and i own heart disease also, i have valve problems(aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation, bicuspid aortic valve, enlarged aorta) theres a GREAT military camp called camp odayin, its for kids with heart disease so if you do own heart disease check into this(you can usually use angel flight to fly out) its in Minnesota and its a great camp!
ow its hard not person able to run around with friends, i have that same problem, its tough man the "sick" child the child that cant do much. I hate it, it really helps to find other kids with heart problems also. Try to find things you and your friends can do that doesnt involve running and sports and freshly try to deal with it, kids with heart disease are strong, we own to be to deal with heart disease. Theres are reason kids beside CHD(congenital heart disease) are called CHD warriors. We fight for our lives and walk through so much just to survive(whether its surgeries, meds, or just emotional) but we can survive. You will be able to take through this.
