24 yr dated f near palpitations?

I am a 24 year old female smoker (6 years) that has not long been experiencing palpitations. I have noticed them occuring for the first time ever over times gone by week, with the frequency occuring more often. I have be keeping track of them, and they have been averaging at about 8-15 single skipped beat an hour (still maintaining my normal heart rate), no matter what type of hum i am doing (resting, walking, etc). I do not have any chest pain, dizziness, syncope, or anything other signs that indicate a cardiac emergency that accompanies them. I am short insurance and wanted to know if this is a serious concern i should look into. I realize nothing can be determined without EKG and lab studies, but any guidance would be great.
Answers:    The most likely source of your palpatations is occassional Premature Ventricular Contractions. That is when the Ventricles of the heart beat out of rhythm.
